Santa: A Visit and a Letter

We made a little trip up to Chicago this week. Our first stop: the German market. We had a pretzel, tried to stay warm, and visited Santa. Although Claire has been preparing for this for awhile, she got pretty shy when her turn came. In the end, she told Santa her request (American Girl doll) and stood just near enough to get a photo. Liam's request came easily...."Choo-choo!"

This was the first year that Claire wrote her own letter to Santa. Well, it took a lot of patience on my part, telling her which letter came next, but she did a great job. And I had to keep reminding her that Santa can probably only fit one or two things for her in his pack. She kept trying to browse thru the Toys R Us catalogue to find more things to put on her list! But it was sweet that she put Liam's request in her letter as well. She wanted to use pink paper just to make sure that Santa knows that she likes the color pink.

Dear Santa,
Please bring me an American Girl Doll, Kit, and clothes 4 her. Liam would like choo-choos.
